Gove blames LAs for eight-month delay in school estates survey.
Michael Gove: government's survey of the English schools estate is running eight months behind schedule.
Delay due to the “inaccuracy” and “inconsistency” of council data.

The DfE launched its Property Data Survey of all England’s schools in July 2011, following a recommendation made in Sebastian James's review of schools capital.
The intention was to create a database which would be used to target both maintenance funding and rebuilding schemes on the areas of greatest need.
The database, originally due to be completed by this autumn, was expected to use existing council-level data where it was believed to be good enough. In other areas, a trio of consultancies (Capita Symonds, Davis Langdon and EC Harris) would conduct surveys.
The DfE will now extend its central surveys to cover these areas, with the goal of completing the scheme by next summer.
