AET has shelved merger plans for two academies and appointed new heads - reports the Essex Chronicle (story from July 20)
Emma Baker becomes head at Maltings Academy in Witham and Damian Lee will take over from Trenica King as head teacher of New Rickstones. John Szynal, previous head at the Maltings, was appointed executive head of both academies.
John told the paper: 'The idea was born of a need to save money and to reinvest funds in creating the best curriculum possible for our students.'
