Damning Ofsted report published - new head and chair of governors in place

From the St Helens Star: 'Hope Academy at Newton-Le-Willows underwent an inspection at the end of February... the school has been classed as “inadequate”...'

Interim principal: Dr David Dennison, former head teacher at St Margaret’s Church of England Academy, Liverpool (Principal John Gannon left in March.).
Chair of governors: Frank Cogley, the former director of schools for the Catholic Archdiocese of Liverpool, (replacing Bart McGettrick who resigned)

The £33m academy, which opened in the autumn of 2011 after a merger between Newton and St Aelred’s high schools.
