The Yorkshire Post reports that prospective sponsor SPTA has been replaced by Wakefield City Academies Trust due to issues related to a fitness centre partnership the Hanson Academy was involved in. The paper reports Councillor Susan Hinchcliffe, executive member for education, skills and culture, saying: “The proposed sponsor at the time failed to reach an agreement with the Department for Education relating to buildings liabilities on the site which is why that conversion fell through."

£300k for a new 5-member academy teaching school alliance
From the Northern Echo: FIVE Church of England schools in the Diocese of Durham will receive £300,000 over 3 years for the new Prince Bishop Teaching School Alliance which consists of:
Academy and museum get £139k funding for partnership
From Local Berkshire: 'The Langley Academy has teamed up with the River and Rowing Museum... to set up teacher and museum champions to align museum programmes with school curriculums across the region... thanks to a £138,600 grant from Arts Council England.'

Devon County Council seeks academy or free school for partnership
From the Exeter Express and Echo:
'...2,500 homes are planned in the area and the plan is to build the school in stages as necessary as homes are completed and occupied... it is likely that it will be built and/or operated by an independent academy or free school working in partnership with Devon County Council...'
