This report in the Northamptonshire Telegraph said Maplefields Teaching School Alliance and Brooke Weston Academy Trust had merged their bids to create a special free school in Corby.
In a joint statement the bidders said: 'In agreeing to collaborate, both groups recognise that the greatest opportunity to secure a positive outcome lies in presenting a joint bid with the full co-operation and backing of Northamptonshire County Council.'
