Teesside MAT wins £1.3m funding - triple the average

From the Gazette Live: Elizabeth Kipling-Vasey, the head of strategy and special educational needs at The Horizons Specialist Academy Trust said:'There were four times as many bids as schools who received the funding, and the average amount given out was £400,000, so for us to have two successful bids and receive the amount we did was incredible...'

The Horizons Specialist Academy Trust runs Stockton’s Westlands secondary and primary schools, and Abbey Hill school - it won Education Funding Agency worth £1.3m. The trust had made three separate bids, including a third to develop gym and leisure facilities at Abbey Hill School, which was not successful.
