From the East London Advertiser:
Three academy schools are preparing to open this year in Tower Hamlets:
London Enterprise Academy opening in September has secured Whitechapel’s Aneurin Bevan House in Commercial Road as its home, which will take up to 600 secondary pupils: Principal Designate, Ashid Ali ('Having worked as a senior leader for the past six years in Newham and previously in Bethnal Green Academy and Stepney Green Boys School when they were in Special Measures, I've seen what makes a school a happy'). The paper said the school was 'backed by 56 east London businesses from accountancy firms to ice cream parlours.'
East London Arts and Music Academy, run by a group of professionals from record labels, performance management and education who have come together to set up a creative arts sixth form with direct links to the music industry. (Will Kennard from ‘Chase & Status’ and Sir Nick Williams, former Head of The BRIT Performing Arts school.)
Canary Wharf College 2, site has not yet been confirmed - planned by Canary Wharf College, Tower Hamlets' first free school which opened in East Ferry Road, on the Isle of Dogs, by a group of parents in 2011. It recently received an “outstanding” Ofsted rating.
