Institute of Education free school bid rejected

From the Camden New Journal:

'They were convinced that the project would be approved because it was sponsored by the prestigious Institute of Education, part of the University of London, and Camden council had brokered a deal to turn workshops and studios at the site into a new school.'

From the Times Higher Education:

The news has been described as a “bolt out of the blue” by the Labour leader of Camden Council, Sarah Hayward, who said she was mystified by the decision given the IoE’s educational expertise.

The IoE, part of the University of London, had planned to establish the institution as a University Training School, to train new teachers

People named:
Councillor Angela Mason, Camden's schools chief
Sarah Hayward, the council’s Labour leader
