Everton free school gets permission for new site

From Everton FC: Planning permission was approved last week on the £4.2 million Free School building and the first phase will open in September 2014. The school will be constructed as part of the Government's Free School programme and will cater for a maximum of 200 students.

The construction budget is based on the refurbishment of an existing building of 705m² on Spellow Lane that will be extended with a new build of 2,645m². The regeneration and redevelopment will offer the people of Kirkdale a community campus which will mean the facilities will be available for public use.

Principal of the Free School (currently based across four sites), Adrian Packer - plans lodged by Everton in the Community Educational Trust, chief executive: Denise Barrett-Baxendale
