Claerwyn Hamilton Wilkes one of the founders of the Hoe valley Free School which has the support of 700 parents and has submitted its bid said: 'A large part of the rationale of the school would be taken away if another school was approved'.
The plans for the new school were prompted by a forecast shortfall in pupil places, but Hoe Valley Free School is not the only group trying to tackle this.
