Secondary closed over surplus spaces tries to convert

From Essex Enquirer: http://www.theenquirer.co.uk/read.aspx?id=14089

'Essex County Council made the decision to close The Deanes School in November last year saying the school’s falling student numbers made the possibility of staying open “unviable”.'

'The Deanes hopes to remain open as an academy, outside of County Council control and government officials from the Office of Schools Adjudicators are set to make the decision. The Adjudicator will be holding a public meeting at 7pm on Thursday, 30 January.'
